The Cloud-Capp'd Towers
Christ Church Georgetown Ticket Requests

Welcome!

We're excited to be able to offer tickets exclusively for parishioners of Christ Church, Georgetown for Lux's concert this summer, The Cloud-Capp'd Towers. Tickets are available at no cost, though we will ask you to verify your vaccination status due to current COVID-19 protocols. Due to limited capacity, tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and when capacity is reached, tickets will no longer be available. Registration will close on Monday, July 19. To register for a ticket, please start by filling out the form below!

The concert will be held on Wednesday, July 21, at 7pm, and features texts from William Shakespeare set by composers Ralph Vaughan Williams, Cecilia McDowall, Amy Beach, Paweł Łukaszewski, Reena Esmail, and Evelin Seppar.

If you find that you're unable to attend but would still like to see the concert, you can access a livestream at this webpage, which will be available as concert time approaches.

Frequently Asked Questions

I misplaced or never received my CDC covid-19 vaccination record card, but I will be fully vaccinated by the day of the concert. Can I still attend?
Most likely. Please email John-Paul Teti confirming your attendance and explain the situation.

Will I or others have to wear a face covering/mask at this concert?
No. All members of Lux participating in this concert have been fully vaccinated and everyone else in attendance will have had their vaccination status confirmed before being issued tickets as well. DC law does not require face coverings for fully vaccinated people; according to the CDC, face coverings are not necessary for fully vaccinated people. We will therefore have no face covering requirement. Of course, if you feel more comfortable wearing one, you are welcome to do so.

This sort of requirement has been controversial in some corners. Why are you doing it?
When we planned this season, it was not clear how widely vaccines would be available in the United States, nor what would be considered a safe/CDC-approved practice for large events. We made a commitment to our singers based on the best available information at the time: all indoor Lux activities would require participants to be fully vaccinated. Many of our singers would not have participated in this season without this promise.

Current best practices and CDC guidelines of course allow for unvaccinated people to participate in indoor events. But we will not disrespect our singers by breaking a promise we made to them. Since this commitment only applies to our Summer 2021 season, it is unlikely that future Lux events will have this requirement. (Of course this could change if the scientific information or law changes.)

I have another question.
Please email John-Paul Teti, and he’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
