Friends, thank you all so much for the tremendous support we received at yesterday's concert; from the standing ovation to the compliments we received afterwards, to the excited buzz in the room. Whether you donated, bought our newest release, Now Ye Heavenly Powers, or simply came to enjoy the concert with us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Enjoy some scenes (and mid-concert selfies!) from the night in the slideshow below! If you couldn't make it to the concert, last night, but still want to support our future projects, please consider donating here! Want to see where our donors have taken us so far? Check out our newest album, Now Ye Heavenly Powers, here! A few days ago, we posted on our social media that big news was coming soon, and now it's here! On June 17 (the day of our concert!), we'll be releasing our second album, Now Ye Heavenly Powers. Including some of our favorite recordings from the last two seasons, you'll be getting twice the music as our last release (and twice the rumbly notes, too!). First dibs go to our audience this Sunday, so be sure to mark your calendars and be there for the release, which feature some of this generation's most talented composers, and some classics from the choral repertoire you're sure to enjoy. See you Sunday! The beginning of our summer season is coming right around the corner, and we are delighted to announce to you our first performance of the season.
Join us on Sunday, June 17, at 6pm, as we present A Journey of Life, featuring works by Tavener, Barber, Trent Reznor, Dave Matthews, Whitacre, Mealor, Lang, Forrest, and others. Follow our protagonist from birth, to marriage, to the bitter end - joy, tragedy, love, loss, life, death. Admission is free, though voluntary donations are much appreciated. See what people are saying, and add it to your calendar by clicking the "Facebook Event" button below. For more information, click "Get Tickets" button. It's recording day! Another exciting day was filled with Tavener, Whitacre, Barber, and more at Georgetown Preparatory School's beautiful Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. We also had a new and exciting addition in our session today: To bolster our low basses this time around, we invited a mentor of many of our founding members, Mr. James L. Turk (lovingly known as "Coach"), who was the high school director of many of our tenors and basses at DeMatha High School. He was such a treat to sing with, and provided much inspiration for us all in speaking with us throughout the day. Keep an eye out for new releases from both this session and our last session. Recording projects are piling up and we're so excited to release them to you! While you wait for that, enjoy some scenes (and Snapchats) from the day... We had such a wonderful time performing for our largest audience yet at the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes today. Your support for Lux, for the arts, and for a bunch of college kids making music for fun has floored us all time and time again. Keep an eye out for news on our album, including much of this program. Thank you so much, and we can't wait to see you next time!
