What are you doing in school?
"I was a chorus teacher in Anne Arundel County, and am now exploring the many other wonders life may offer me." How long have you been singing in choirs? "15 years!" What is your favorite musical memory? "Watching my collegiate a cappella group, Faux Paz, sing my arrangement of Dog Days are Over, by Florence + the Machine." Do you have any special talents or interests outside of music? "Living, Laughing, Loving" Who is your favorite composer? "Beyoncé" Who's your favorite non-classical musical artist? Why? "Beyoncé" What song have you not been able to stop listening to? "Heated by…Beyoncé" What's your favorite thing about singing in Lux? "Collaborating with a bunch of outstanding musicians who care about the product beyond how it is presented to the audience, but for the sake of its creation. And not having to be the heavy for every musical decision. :)" What's your favorite song that you've sung with Lux? "Lead, Kindly Light [by Paul Mealor]" What's the most interesting fact about you? "I lived in England for 3 years? Idk!" |
Baritone Michael Brisentine graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with degrees in Music Education and Vocal performance. They lead Faux Paz, an all-gender a cappella group, to Finals and multiple Best Album recording award nominations. Later, Michael went on to teach at Chesapeake High in Anne Arundel County. They went to the University of Kentucky to receive a Masters in Choral Conducting, then taught at Severna Park High School. Michael was recently hired by Service Coordination to assist people with disabilities by helping them to receive services necessary for their happiness and fulfillment. They have a beautiful puppy named Vivi, who they love dearly.
